Anoma Launches AnomaPay, Bringing Private Payments to BNB Chain
Anoma launches private payments app AnomaPay on BNB Chain, enabling private transfers of existing assets, as well as its privacy infrastructure enabling BNB Chain developers to build their own privacy applications.
Anoma, the distributed operating system bringing native intents and programmable privacy to existing blockchains, launched its private payments application AnomaPay on BNB Chain today. Today’s launch follows the recent deployment of Anoma’s distributed operating system (DOS) on BNB Chain, enabling BNB ecosystem builders and users to benefit from its native intents and programmable privacy features.
AnomaPay addresses the UX challenges of existing privacy solutions that limit users to specific privacy coins or privacy chains, require new wallets and software, and often involve long wait times. Building on the cryptographic innovations pioneered by Zcash, AnomaPay expands privacy-preserving transfers to any existing ERC-20 asset, enabling users to shield their payments, balances, and histories on public blockchains.
Available to BNB Chain users today as a public beta, AnomaPay is a non-custodial application offering private payments using ETH, USDC, USDT, and XAN, with support for additional assets forthcoming. Users can onboard easily with existing wallets or a passkey, and can send payments with payment links instead of hexadecimal addresses, with fast Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proving times of around 15 seconds.
“Privacy is the last big hurdle standing in the way of true financial sovereignty and bringing risk-averse users and enterprises onchain,” Anoma co-founder Adrian Brink stated. “BNB Chain is a major driver of global adoption, so we’re thrilled to debut AnomaPay not only to BNB Chain users but to developers who can leverage Anoma’s private rails in their own applications.”
The AnomaPay launch follows the recent deployment of Anoma’s distributed operating system (DOS) infrastructure on BNB Chain, enabling BNB ecosystem applications and developers to leverage Anoma’s native intents and programmable privacy. Using the Anoma SDK, developers can now incorporate private ERC-20 rails into their applications natively on BNB Chain and other supported chains. This enables consumer and enterprise use cases from private payments to confidential trading, onchain payroll and treasury management, asset issuance, AI agent payments, and more.
“Privacy is a real priority for us at BNB Chain because it’s what builds the kind of trust needed to bring in everyday users and institutions who’ve been sitting on the sidelines.’’ said Nina Rong, Executive Director of Growth at BNB Chain.
Developers can customize Anoma’s programmable privacy according to the requirements of specific jurisdictions, and enable users to selectively disclose transaction data with specific parties as necessary for auditing or compliance needs.
As the leading blockchain for stablecoin activity by transaction count, BNB Chain is a natural choice for the public debut of AnomaPay’s private payments. From here, AnomaPay support for additional blockchains and assets will be rolled out over time. Beyond BNB Chain, Anoma DOS is currently live on Ethereum mainnet, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Aurora.
